Sally Newton is a fine artist producing work inspired by nature.
Qualified with a B.A. (Hons) in Fine Art (Printmaking) from Cambridge School of Art, Sally works from life, often outdoors, and uses drawing, painting and printmaking disciplines in her practice. Particularly interested in line and form, Sally uses pencil, chalk, acrylic, and watercolour in many of her observational pieces and sometimes develops these further in oil.
A passionate printmaker, she is currently working with monotypes to produce unique painterly prints.
Inspired by new ideas and ways of working, she returns to renaissance and early 20th Century period artists time and time again to learn from their work and is a keen follower of modern portrait, landscape, and wildlife artists and printmakers.
Above all, she is inspired by how the environment forms an integral part of our well being. Her work celebrates all that she finds important about that world and hopes that her interpretation equally inspires others.
Sally also accepts commissions for contemporary animal portraiture, sensitively capturing the personality in the subject in a fresh and interesting way.
