Project Workshops will be holding their summer Open Studios on the 17th and 18th August 2024.

ELAINE PETO

Elaine’s work comprises of animal sculptures made in stoneware and porcelain clay. Each piece is hand modelled and decorated with glazes and oxides, then fired to 1250 degrees. She currently exhibits work in the UK and France, as well as working on private commissions.

AMY GOODMAN

Amy Goodman recently unveiled her new sculpture of the ‘Glimmer Twins’, a prestigious commission to sculpt Sir Mick Jagger and Keith Richards for their hometown, Dartford.  Amy is immensely honoured to have been awarded a new commission of our late Queen, Elizabeth II and will be working on this piece over the open weekend.

ALICE STRAKER

Alice Straker is an artist and designer of a kitchenware brand. Her oil paintings are thickly textured created using palette knives and brushes. Chocolate éclairs have become her signature Art ‘dish’ inspired by nostalgic trips to a café when she was little. Alice is currently working on a cake series alongside commissioned work. KATY RUNDLE

Katy Rundle works with patterned fabric collage and stitch which is inspired by a need to celebrate life, capture memories, and seize joy. Katy is coming to the conclusion of her series of Kenya wildlife work and was recently recognised at the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year with a newcomer award for her depiction of a Vulture. Katy will be showing her new completed textile piece of a deer.

MARK TAYLOR & DAVID HILL

Mark Taylor and David Hill have worked as glassmakers since 1989 and have devoted almost all their time to re-creating Roman glass. As well as undertaking private commissions for artists such as Grayson Perry, and making glass for films such as ‘The Favourite’ and television programmes such as ‘Outlander’, they also work on projects involving ancient and historical glassmaking techniques. In recent years they have reproduced the Amarna Fish for the BBC and have made glass for the King’s Chocolate Kitchen at Hampton Court Palace. They have recently installed a wood-fired furnace which has given them the ability to run a wide range of experimental projects involving ancient glass as well as making glass for sale.

MATT DUKE

The last six months has seen bronze sculptor, Matt go into production mode, fulfilling many orders including the sell out collaborative piece with Pat Bull, ‘Three little birds’ birdbath. Matt will be showing two of his newest pieces ‘Beatrix the Owl’ and the ‘Nuthatch’. Matt is most definitely looking forward to some serious creative time in the next few months.

SALLY NEWTON

Sally Newton has been developing her colour based paintings of the local landscape and moving towards abstraction. Come to see her large scale oil paintings investigating her interpretation of colour in nature, following her artist residency at nearby Cholderton Estate. Some of her works from her recent collection of paintings from Rajasthan will also be on show.

SORAYA FRENCH

Soraya French is an international artist and author, demonstrating for Golden Artist Colours and an inspiring art teacher. Visit her studio to see her recent work.
