ZOË WILSON
SCULPTURE
Zoë Wilson is a British stone sculptor known for her hand carved geometric sculptures. Working in British stone, she uses traditional mallet and chisel techniques to reveal precise, complex forms from solid blocks, where geometry, light and shadow combine to create a quiet sense of movement within the material.
Her work begins with mathematical structures and evolves through a slow, deliberate process of removal, uncovering intricate internal geometries that appear to rotate and unfold. Thousands of visible chisel marks remain, recording the hand of the maker and celebrating the enduring relevance of traditional craftsmanship within contemporary sculpture.
Wilson trained at City and Guilds of London Art School, graduating with a first class diploma in Historic Stone Carving. She is a QEST Scholar and her work has been widely exhibited, commissioned and featured in national publications, reflecting a growing reputation within contemporary British craft. Highlights include exhibiting at Collect Art Fair at Somerset House and a commission for St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
Alongside her studio practice, she teaches stone carving courses from her Hampshire studio, sharing the skills and disciplines of the craft with a new generation of makers.
